What Does It Really Mean To Be “On A Break”?

Let’s take a break. Seriously, what the hell does that even mean? For some, a break means ripping off the band aid slowly on a failing relationship. For others, it’s actually helpful. The problem is you have to set some ground rules first. No, it’s not as simple as saying “let’s take a break” and expecting the other person to know what the rules are. If things were so great and the two of you were on the same wavelength, you wouldn’t need a break.

Believe it or not, there are rules if you want a break that doesn’t lead to a breakup.

IT’S A TIME TO RE-EVALUATE THE RELATIONSHIP.

Does he really make you happy? Have you become better since being in the relationship? What do you like and dislike? A break isn’t party time now that you don’t have someone by your side. Sit down and seriously think about what you want from this relationship, what you can change to get it and if the relationship is even worth saving.
